All of the Big Hits Finally in One Collection Nov 12, 2008
By Steven Slayton Finally, all of Reba's big hits from her MCA days are in one collection. This goes well beyond the Reba #1s that became available a few years ago. As a die-hard fan though, I already have all of these recordings, so I don't know if I will pick it up. The only problem with this set is that while it includes tracks from Reba's MCA recordings, it does not include any tracks from Reba's first MCA album, Just a Little Love. Both the title track, Just a Little Love, and He Broke Your Memory Last Night are two of Reba's most powerful recordings. I find it strange than neither appear here. Moreover, there are a few singles missing from the collection (such as On My Own and They Asked About You, among others), but the set is not a "singles" collection. Nevertheless, for the casual fan, this is the best Reba McEntire set to purchase because you will get all of the big hits in one collection (including many left off of the #1s). Too bad MCA didn't put 1 or 2 rare tracks on here for the die-hards.

Another Amazing Collection from Reba Nov 11, 2008
By Ryal McMurry I have loved Reba McEntire for a long time. Therefore I am biased that all the music on this set is great.
I was however not thrilled when I heard that once again we would be getting another "hits" collection. I had hoped for some previously unreleased material, but alas that was not included with this set. I also took issue with the packaging. The pictures did not look very appealing.
All that said, I feel that the pictures do not do the set justice. It is a pressed leather -- so the texture alone gives it character. The songs are all wonderful, although it would have been nice to get some of the Mercury recordings here as well.
I think the collection is solid. If you are a casual Reba fan, then this is definitely for you. It has all the greats all in one place -- from "How Blue" right up to "Because of You." It's the die-hard fans who have all the albums who will have more of a problem with the set. I bought it, and I'm glad I did.
Listening to all those great songs at once really reminds me of why I love Reba. She can sing a song and tell a story unlike anyone else. That is why she is the Queen of Country Music, and she will always be. This collection proves that she's had the career no other woman in country music has had. 50 Greatest Hits cements Reba's remarkable work. She's a gem, and there will never be another Reba!

Reba's absolutely amazing!!!!!! Oct 28, 2008
By Rebafan90 Reba is truly one of the best there is. Although this collection doesn't include anything from her Mercury days, it does include almost every major hit she has had on MCA. Reba is amazing!!!!!!!!! This collection has more selection of songs than her #1s CD had. I LOVE REBA!!!!!!!!!

Tops ALL to date! - with 19 more hits then on "Reba #1's" Apr 24, 2011
By majormusiclover This set starts with Reba's 23rd charted song in 1984, & goes through 2007.
Here are most of Reba's hits during that time, packaged in a more compact way.
19 major hits NOT on Reba's #1s are here, along with 31 repeats.
Three of those 19 are --
1. "Somebody" -- 2003.
2. "He get's that from me" -- 2004.
3. "Because of you" -- 2007 duet with Kelly Clarkson.
There are 13 singles from the period this collection covers,
1984 to 2001 that aren't here.
They are 2 top ten hits, 3 top fourty, 3 didn't make top 40, and 5 Christmas.
None of Reba's first 20 songs to chart on the Mercury label are here,
and her first 2 M.C.A. singles are missing.
Between Reba's first charted single in 1976, "I don't want to be a one night stand",
to 2001, "I'm a Survivor", she has 82 singles, and at least 3 from 2001 to 2007.
Even if you have all of Reba's previous hit collections,
this set still adds 10 tracks not included in those prior C.D.'s.
The five prior hit collections are:
1. "The best of Reba McEntire", 10 tracks, starting with her 11 charted song in 1980.
By Mercury-PolyGram in 1985, re-issued in 1994.
Nine of these 10 songs charted between 1980 to 1983, none of them are on "50 Greatest Hits".
2. "Reba McEntires's Greatest Hits", 10 tracks, By M.C.A. in 1987.
All 10 songs charted, 8 are on "50 gr hits", but the 2 that aren't, are her
first two M.C.A. charted hits: "Just a little love" & "He broke your mem'ry last night".
3. "Reba, Greatest Hits Volume Two", 10 tracks, By M.C.A. in 1993.
All 10 of these songs charted, 9 of them are on "50 gr hits" set.
The one that isn't, is one of the 13 aformentioned missing songs,
& was a top ten hit in 1993, "They asked about you"
4. "Reba, Greatest Hits Volume Three, I'm a Survivor" 15 tracks, By M.C.A. Nashville, in 2001.
Thirteen of these 15 tracks charted. All 13 are on this "50 gr hits" set.
5. "Reba's #1's", 2 disc, 35 tracks, By M.C.A. Nashville in 2005.
33 of these 35 tracks charted, and 31 are on "50 gr hits" set.
The 2 charted tracks on #1's that was not repeated on "50 gr hits"
are also on the first C.D. mentioned above, "The Best of Reba McEntire".
"Can't even get the blues", 1982 and "You're the first time I've thought about leaving", 1983.
The ten additional tracks gained by buying "50 greatest hits",
even if you have all the five collections mentioned above, are --
1. "Let the music lift you up", top 5 hit, 1987.
2. "Sunday kind of love", top 5 hit, 1988.
3. "Til love comes again" top 5 hit, 1989.
4. "Starting over again", top 20 hit, 1996.
5. "I'd rather ride around with you", top 5 hit, 1997.
6. "What if it's you", top 20 hit, 1997.
7. "Wrong night", top 20 hit, 1998.
8. "I'll be", top 5 hit, 2000.
9. "He gets that from me", 2004.
10. "Because of you", 2007.
This box set is very nicely presented.
The padded vinyl box has the appearance of tooled cowhide.
Inside is a foldout case, with a 19 page booklet attached to the first flap.
In addition to the track listing, are several color photo's of Reba,
and some thoughts from her about the compiling of this collection.
Since Reba has now moved to "Valory Music Company",
this may likely be the best set ever to be offered of so many of her hits in one place.
This is an amazing compilation of music, from an amazing human being!
This set is highly recommended.
