As a bonus, Capitol Records Nashville has included one previously unreleased track, "Airborne Cowboy."LeDoux, who lost his battle with cancer of the bile duct on March 9, 2005, at the age of 56, had a career spanning more than three decades, recording 37 albums. He began in the early '70s with such hits as "Cowboy Like Me" and "Too Tough to Die," and gained national attention when a fellow country singer, Garth Brooks, mentioned LeDoux in his song "Much Too Young to Feel This Damn Old." LeDoux joined Garth Brooks at his label, Capitol Records Nashville, and went on to sell more than six million records worldwide. On July 16, 2005, LeDoux was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame as the first honoree to be inducted under two categories: Bareback and Notables (for his contributions to the sport through his music). LeDoux, an icon to many rodeo and music fans, was able to expose the sport he loved to the masses through not only his own accomplishments in rodeo, but through his songs about rodeo--and, more importantly, in the way he truly lived the cowboy lifestyle. | | | |

Build ya a fire Jan 31, 2006
By Charle J This is what I like to call Country music. Now I really enjoy all country music, but this music reminds me of my rodeo days. To see Chris die at such a young age just puzzles me, but knowing that he accomplished so much in his music I think it's fair to say he lived a really great life. This music is wonderful and I love to take it with me camping!

Chris Lrdoux Antho;ogy Vol 1. Oct 24, 2005
By N. J. Carmichael This is a must have for all Chris Ledoux fans
I have over twenty of his albums and this is right up with the best of them. I have loved Chris work ever since I came across a copy of Gold Buckle Dreams in our local music store 15 years ago the man may be gone but he will live on through his music forever.
Essential Americana Oct 30, 2010
By Leamon Chris LeDoux exemplified the spirit every American should aspire to have. He was a true American hero, not a flashy 15 minutes in the spotlight person but one who lived a long dedicated perseverance of honorable character. He worked hard at his passion of sport and music. I also admire his apparent love of his wife and family. In my opinion, Chris was an example of the unique American nobility where one's greatness is measured "by the content of their character." He belongs in the hall of fame with Pat Tillman, Susan Butcher, Henry Tureman Allen, Daniel Boone and the like. We are fortunate to be able to hold on to these memories through his music.
There is something about the simple, smooth and clear nature of his voice that exposes the fun and honest personality which comes though every song. Some songs are better than others, but I haven't heard a song by him I don't like. It's all good!
A great collection Feb 21, 2008
By DebDen My heart breaks when I think this wonderful, talented songwriter is no longer with us. Thank you for keeping his songs alive. There was and always will be only one voice like Chris. I highly recommend this album, telling it like it is in the Rodeo Life. Rest in Peace Chris. Deb
Anthology an A+ Sep 16, 2005
By J. W. Walker The life and music of Chris LeDoux lives on in this tribute to the legend of Country Music and the Rodeo. From the Classic LeDoux hits, Copenhagen and Bareback Jack, to the new song Airborne Cowboy, this CD features 20 of Chris' most exciting and inspirational songs about living the Western lifestyle. This CD is definitely recommended from the collection of one Chris LeDoux fan to all the others. Special thanks to Peggy LeDoux for adding the final notes to all who worked with Chris over his lifetime and the ending note from a loving wife to her fallen hero. This musical collection truly shows Chris LeDoux was a "Mighty Lucky Man"
