My daughter loves the Saddle Club and purchased Carole and Stevie and their horses with her b-day money. She already had Lisa (who promptly fell apart out of the box). The horses and tack are the decent quality toys that we had previously purchased from Breyer, but the Saddle Club dolls are complete pieces of junk. First, all of the dolls were made from the same mold--they changed skin tone and hair color, but the faces are the same on every doll. The dolls are so ridiculously flimsy and poorly made that we're just waiting for the next appendage to fall off. Unless you're buying them primarily for the horses, I wouldn't buy these toys.

I got this for my 8 year old daughter who loves horses and the Saddle Club. I agree with other reviewers that the dolls aren't exactly like the characters, but I didn't expect them to be. I have found them to be plenty durable for gentle play. My daughter loves having the characters from the series.

Like other Breyer horse sets, this is well made and lots of fun for children!! However, the picture is not clear - we thought it was a caucasian doll with dark hair (trying to find one similar in appearance to our child for an extra fun factor) however, this doll (while lovely) is dark skinned with dark hair - she is a beautiful doll, just not what we had expected. If you're looking for a "look alike" doll for your child, that could be important to know. :)

Great toy, but not for rough play Jan 01, 2009

I really like the breyer / girl horse sets that I purchased for my daughter (6) for christmas. HOwever, I have a two 1/2 year old who likes to take the bridles / harnesses off the horses face and they are very delicate and flimsy. I have tried to keep him away from them, but thats easier said than done. My daughter loves playing with them and they are very life like, just have to be gentle with the riding gear on them.

Purchased this item for my granddaughter for her birthday. This was our first experience with Breyer. The dolls are not even bendable enough to sit on the horses. The sadle and bridle are so cheaply made also. The bridle is particular was so thin in some spots and will soon break with even very gentle use. The reins are thinner than sewing thread in some spots. Contacted the company and they stated they do not deal with customers.
