Garth's best album Jan 18, 2008
By M. Duran As the editorial suggests, this is Garth Brooks' best album. If you only own one, own this one.... it's beautiful, beginning to end... especially the end... The Dance. If you don't own it, then your CD library is pretty annoying.
First release from Mega-Hit Making Garth Brooks Feb 01, 2012
By Venus Manley I bought this for my niece who actually is a new Garth Brooks fan. However, I had this album on cassette in the early 90s. Garth doesn't usually disappoint with his music, and this particular album is the beginning of fun music to come.
The best of Garth!!!! Dec 26, 2011
By rocker54 It may have been the first, but it was the best of Garth's many albums. All Hail the Prince of country!!

I really love this cd, every song is fantastic. I've owned this cd so long that I wore my first one out and had to buy another one. Garth's best cd.

The start of one great career May 31, 2011
By Brent Butler Garth Brooks released this album and quickly rose to become one of the most astonishing music phenomenons of our time. That's always been a bit hard for me to understand. I suppose that Garth managed to market himself more successfully. Maybe it was his contacts, doing concerts with the like of Billy Joel. Maybe his songs were rockin' enough that he just had that oomph to cross over. His music is great, but I don't really consider it better than many of the other country talents that rose in the same short span of time ... Clint Black, Billy Dean, Joe Diffie, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Mark Chestnut ... and the list goes on.
However, there is no denying that Garth hit it big with some hits that caught the fancy of country and rock fans alike. On this album you have two monster hits. "If Tomorrow Never Comes" explores what we might do today that matters. Tell a loved one you love them. Don't let it go unsaid until its too late ... a simple, but true, admonition. In "The Dance" Garth opines that he wouldn't change his life if he knew what the future held and could plan for it. Part of the fun is living it fully and NOT knowing what tomorrow may bring. His caution is to say that by playing it safe to avoid the pitfalls, you might just wring all the fun out of things too.
Other songs on the album are just fun: "Much Too Young (to be this Damn Old)", "Nobody Gets off in this Town", and "Not Counting You" were probably my favorites among the rest. Its a good listen, and since its 22 years old you can get it used for a buck. If you don't have it, and you aren't the type that just can't stand anything country, its a must for your collection.
