Featuring a washed heritage cherry finish; solid, premium Sitka spruce top; and mahogany back and sides, this arresting acoustic-electric's tone is as ruby-throated as its namesake! A round mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard gives your fingers the ability to take flight over mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. Plug the Hummingbird guitar in and jam with an L.R. Baggs Element undersaddle transducer and preamp that keeps the look clean with an ingenious soundhole mounted volume control. Binding is 6-ply on top and 4-ply on the back. Gold keystone tuners, a mother-of-pearl crown inlay on the headstock, tortoise pickguard and a traditional Gibson rosewood bridge complete the look. Gibson includes a premium hardshell case with each Hummingbird guitar. | | | |

My favorite guitar Oct 07, 2011
By R. Sadewater

I have multiple guitars for different styles and situations, but when I practice at home, this is the one I grab for all around versatility. I love the way it sounds (rich tone, good sustain). I love the way it feels (slightly wider at the nut than my Ovations, or my Fenders, or my electric Gibsons). I love the way it looks. I keep it out of the case in a guitar stand in the living room. If I only have a few minutes of free time, I can grab it and play. It stays in tune.
And when it comes to gigs, the L.R. Baggs Element undersaddle transducer sounds great either through my guitar amp or through the PA (or directly into my Boss recording deck). The preamp is mounted inside, not visible at all from the outside, with sound hole mounted volume control. This guitar feels like "home". I love it.
