4A More Mature Kellie Pickler!  Jun 02, 2010
The thing that strikes me the most about Kellie's sophomore album is how mature she sounds. Her songwriting and vocals have become a whole lot stronger since her debut album Small Town Girl. These last two years touring has really paid off for her. She's also changed her sound a little,it's a more radio friendly pop/country.But Kellie really pulls it off nicely!
It includes the first single Don't You Know You're Beautiful(great lyrics to this, very empowering) and the current single Best Days Of Your Life,co-written with Taylor Swift who also provides the harmonies. This is one of the standouts,a seriously in your face kiss-off uptempo that will have you reaching for the repeat button.
Other fantastic uptempos are I'm Your Woman,Lucky Girl and the very witty Rocks Instead Of Rice, all very catchy.
But she also includes some lovely ballads such as One Last Time and the very raw Somebody To Love Me,there's also the ballad Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You from her debut but this version shows off Kellie's stronger voice. She really belts this one out!
She wrote 5 of the 10 tracks, and has given the songs a lot more depth this time around plus she just sounds better than ever.
Overall a fantastic effort from Ms Pickler.

2Pop Flavor Wipes Out Great Country Voice  Feb 07, 2010
Kellie's got a great country music voice, but this album has too many pop music arrangements. Her talent shines on "Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You" and "Don't You Know You're Beautiful", but the rest of the songs are below average. They sound more like pop than country, and the music drowns out Kellie's excellent voice on many tracks. I don't know what the producers were thinking.

4I like it  Jan 08, 2010
When I first opened up the CD it had a huge mark on it. Amazon was great about replacing it. I received the new CD and I really like it. I would recommend this CD.

1The First Album Was Better...  Nov 10, 2009
I loved the first album, it was refreshing to me because it helped me gain at least a little bit of confidence in modern country. I enjoyed every song on the first album and could not wait to get a hold of the second. So I finally got my hands on the CD and popped it in. The first song is lyrically ok, but I was put off by the music. The CD went quickly downhill and stayed down. There was nothing country about anything in this album--even the slight 2 seconds of steel guitar I heard in one song didn't add enough to the music to be called country. Her accent seemed like it was drowned out, the music was poppy and flat at best. The lyrics were lame and made me feel embarrassed for her. The remake of "Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You" turned an otherwise decent country song into a too fast and lame pop song. I was disappointed with every song and disappointed with the whole album, especially because the first was great and my expectations for her were high. This album was a failure, don't waste your time with it and/or lose respect for someone I thought had a great potential career in country music.
