5The Best of Reba  Oct 10, 2001 By Book 'Em, Danno "mljdjl26"
I love this album. It was basically the soundtrack of my life for a while after I first got it, I hardly listened to anything else for months. Reba can get your toe tapping one moment and then make you cry your eyes out the next. All of the songs are great. It's nice to listen to music where the lyrics tell a story, unlike a lot of the popular music of today. Terrific album of Reba's early hits, highly recommended.

5THIS IS THE ONLY REBA CD THAT I LIKE!!  Nov 04, 2005 By mitch
Given the fact that I have only heard two of her CDs, this one and the god-awful "If You See Him" I rate this one 5 stars. If the albums of which these songs came off of are half as good as this CD then Reba was certainly the country queen of the eighties. I enjoy this CD very much.

5REBA'S VERY BEST!!  Oct 30, 2005 By tomga
Reba was on a roll and this CD shows it. Too bad she couldn't maintain the momentum with her future releases after this greatest hits album was released. Enjoy this one because she sure changed after this phase.

5SINCERE AND PURE COUNTRY  Oct 30, 2005 By dangorton
Reba was once a down to earth, hometown country girl. Now she has become a "DIVA" and a "PRIMA DONNA". This CD takes us back to those days when she could really pick material that highlighted her country roots and she shone brighter than any other star of her era. She worked long and hard to get there. This CD is is truly the best representation of Reba's greatest hits that there has ever been. Too bad there are only ten songs on here.

5Reba's traditional country phase  Aug 23, 2005 By Peter Durward Harris "Pete the music fan"
Reba's early recordings for Mercury never strayed far from traditional country but after she switched to MCA she recorded the album Just a little love (with just a hint of a pop-country flavor) followed by a series of firmly traditional albums - My kind of country, Have I got a deal, Whoever's in New England, Merry Christmas to you and What am I gonna do about you - that put her alongside Ricky Skaggs, the Judds and George Strait as a hero to fans of traditional country music. Randy Travis broke through to the big time during this period.

I confess that I never really understood how Reba's singles were chosen. I bough the albums as they appeared and liked to guess which tracks would become singles and I was nearly always wrong. Of course, everything that Reba recorded during this period was brilliant and she was very successful on the country charts with these songs. Perhaps the most famous song here is Whoever's in New England. Apart from that, my favorites here are Just a little love, How blue and Have I got a deal for you.

So this compilation, containing Reba's biggest hits from the period, is one that all traditional country fans will cherish. If you became a Reba fan because of her later recordings, this compilation may come as something of a shock to you.
