Extrordinary acoustic performance in a stage and studio ready acoustic/electric instrument. The Supernatural TAN15C dreadnought is handcrafted in our pro series facility that has been building precision quality instruments over five decades. The underlying theme of the Supernatural series is understated elegance. A gloss finish provides durability and lasting beauty. The look is accented by a genuine abalone rosette and fretboard dot inlays. Gold tuning machines with amber pearl buttons further add to the premium look of the instrument. All Supernatural series tonewoods are hand-selected, premium grade timbres. A solid red cedar top, supported by scalloped X bracing, is voiced to be deep and mellow and responds well to a light touch. A solid Indian Rosewood back aids in projection and expands the bandwidth of the cedar top. A pinless bridge makes string changing a breeze. Includes Takamine’s palathetic pickup®, known in the industry as one of the most accurate and natural sounding acoustic/electric pickups. The electronic performance package is beyond state of the art with the Cool Tube Preamp – the first and only tube preamp in an acoustic guitar. This guitar is an excellent choice for solo or duo performers or singer/songwriters.

5The Best of the Best  Jan 21, 2011 By Shanus Jr.
I've played guitar for about 15 years now. Everything from ambient to Latin music to metal. I was in the market for a new acoustic electric 3-4 years ago when I almost jokingly tried out the Takamine TAN15C at a small music store in Arizona. I say "jokingly" because I was looking to spend about half of what the Tak's price tag said. One chord and a run up the neck was all it took to know this guitar was different. Very different. I could play smoother, faster, and with more feeling, automatically. The unplugged tone was mindblowing. Clear, percussive, and clean, but still warm. The action felt like a top-end American Strat. I tried a couple of other high-end guitars in the shop, and nothing even came close. I broke out the credit card and have been in guitar-love ever since.

I later found out that the plugged-in tone is equally amazing, thanks to the high-end electronics and CoolTube technology. To this day, the superiority of this guitar versus any other make/model is very real. Not that I've played everything out there, and I still haven't found a TAN16C to compare it with; but I can honestly say that the dozens of guitars I've tried out since buying this one (most of which cost more) fail to even come close. I've searched for months to find a worthy backup guitar for gigs and alternate tunings, and one thing seems clear: I better just pick up another TAN15C. I'm spoiled for life.

5TAN 15C: The Real Deal!  Dec 17, 2011 By Old Man
Just got the Takamine TAN 15C from Amazon. Delivered to my front door in just a few days. Plus got a super discount that no other store was doing. Now on to the guitar. I have been trading guitars for the last few months, looking for something that really lives up to the hype without spending $2 - 3,000. Went through Breedloves, Taylors (all decent). Then settled on a spruce/mahogany Larrivee LV-05E, which sounds amazingly elegant with beautiful overtones but not a lot of power unamped. Then I ran into someone with a Takamine TAN 15C. I have a Tak spruce/maple 12-string that I will never part with; so I thought I would give the cedar/rosewood TAN 15C a try. Such a cliché, but from the first chord I was in love. Power, clarity, sustain, wide spectrum of sound, ease of play - all there. Plus, it is a gorgeous guitar - quality woods, gloss finish, amber pearl buttons, pinless bridge, split compensated saddle. It just reeks of aesthetic and sonic pleasure. Along with a high-quality case, how can you go wrong for under $1500?

Now, on to the best part: The CTP-2 Cool Tube pre-amp. Playing through a Genz Benz 150LT with a matching 12inch satellite speaker, and 24 bit digital effects processor cranking out 200 watts. Supernatural! Amazing! Plugged, unplugged this is an awesome instrument.

5plays like 3 times its value  Nov 18, 2011 By bam bam
i went to my music store in Ireland to have a look at a Laraviee d-3 electro accoustic 6 string, very few of these guitars come our way here after hearing so many fantastic reviews on this i had a look- but it did not tick all the boxes for me i thought more so the base side which i thought let this guitar down a little , after 1 hr of trying other guitars in the store Breadlove, Martin, Garrison and so on , the Breadlove seemed very nice untic the store guy asked if i had ever tried Takamine , i said the ones i heard in the past i did not like mainly for the poor accoustic sound then he said you should try the new TAN -15 and TAN-16 which i did i was hugely impressed , i prefered the tone from the TAN- 15 CEDAR top it ticked all the boxes for me @ 1300 i bought it and what a guitar every way workmanship these guitars are made in Japan, finish, price, sound, electrics, top woods, and a realy nice case, bar Collings and Santa Cruz which cost 3 or 3.5 times the price , for me a great deal .
